How do I get to you?
The most obvious, and usually the cheapest, way is to fly into Heathrow Airport and then take a direct and frequent bus to Exeter (journey time approximately 3.5 hours).
Here are some alternatives for some European countries. If you fly to Exeter, pick up at the airport is free. If you fly to Bristol you can either come to Exeter by bus or train or be picked up by car at Bristol Airport. There is a £60 charge for this.
The alternatives to Heathrow are:
From Germany
- to fly direct from Brussels to Exeter International Airport.
- to fly to Amsterdam or Paris and take a connecting flight to Exeter Airport
- If you are from the Munich area it is also possible to fly at some times of the year from Salzburg to Exeter direct
- to fly direct to Bristol International Airport
From the Czech Republic
- to fly to Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam and take a connecting flight to Exeter
- to fly direct to Bristol International Airport
From Spain
- to fly to Paris and take a connecting flight to Exeter
- to fly direct from Murcia, Alicante or Malaga to Exeter International Airport
- to fly direct to Bristol International Airport
From France
- to fly direct to Exeter from Bergerac, Paris, Brest, Rennes, Chambery, Nice and Avignon
It is worth noting that early booking of flights can mean a very large cost saving.

If you decide to spend more time in the UK, you may like to think about coming by car. We have a route guide available which will take you through some of the most attractive sights on the way from Dover or Folkestone.
To find where courses take place, go to Google Maps and type "EX5 5NT" into the line at the top of the page. This will show you the location of Abbotsford and, by moving out, Exeter and the country around.

tell me about my full-day excursion
All courses include one or more full days in which we visit local places of interest. Devon, and the south-west in general, is one of the most popular tourist areas in the country, offering a long coastline, beautiful hill country and pretty villages. Popular choices for excursions are
Dartmoor. This is an area of wild high country to the west of Exeter, rich in prehistoric remains.

Stately homes. There are several interesting stately homes in the area, dating from the Middle Ages to the 1930s.

Castles. You have the possibility of visiting several ruined castles in the area.
Seaside. The coast is about 30 minutes away from Exeter. Among the most interesting places is the World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, where you can pick up fossils from the beach!

Further away. A very full day of travelling could include parts of Cornwall, pretty fishing villages, the "birthplace of King Arthur" and the bio-domes of the famous Eden Project..
